The pages of this book began for Velvet Jan Davis Gray when she was born to David Howard Sr.and Verdell Marie Howard on July 7, 2014 in Longview,Texas.She was raised in Longview and was one of fourteen children,eight girls and six boys.
She attended school for the deaf and hearing impaired in Austin,Texas,for most of her early schooling.Until she graduated with her Teaching Degree for the death and hearing Impaired.
She later resided in San Jose,California,where she for worked for the United States Post Office for a number of years before returning to Longview,Texas.
She Married Jewel Frank Gray,Sr.and was the mother of four beautiful children.She was preceded in death by Her parents three brothers,Kelly,John Kerry and Jerome Cotton,two sisters,Verdell Caraway and Jo Ann Cotton.
She leaves to cherish her memory:her children Chester W.Davis,Jewel Frank Gray Jr.Kendrick Gray and Kimberly Gray:Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild:her siblings ,David (Anita)Howard Jr.Terry T.Cotton and Bivins (Kim) Caraway Jr.Sisters:Beverly Ann Howard,Sandra Howard,Linda Davis,Vivian Hamilton,Bivilynn D.Caraway.all of Longview.Aunt Florene Davis of Brookhaven,Ms and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins other relatives and many friends.
