Shirley Ann Ransome Thompson was born on November 13, 1944 in Vicksburg, MS to Alfonso and Dorothy Ransome. Shirley was third child of fifteen. Shirley was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev .Johnny Henderson at St. John M.B. Church, Somerset, LA. Shirley was employed by the Dialysis Medical Team for many years until retirement. Shirley was united in marriage to James Thompson in 1988.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Alfonso and Dorothy Ransome, her son Donnell two brothers, Jerome and MacArthur, niece Cheryl, three nephews Lil Al, Tony, and Stanley. and Stanley. Shirley loved fishing and visiting with family and friends. Shirley departed from this world on Monday September 12,2022 in Longview, Texas at her home. She leaves to cherish her memories; Husband James Thompson, grandsons Tyler, Jujuan and Dominique of Longview, Texas. One granddaughter Jazznuin, five sisters Josephine (Williams) Blackmon of Monroe, LA. Iris Rollins, and Barbara Ransome (Peyton) of Newelton, LA ,Rosetta (Leon) Brown of Ypsilanti Michigan Doris (Elvis) South of Los Angeles, CA. Five brothers; Alfonso (Lue) Ransome of Tallulah, LA, Calvin (Kanola) Ransome of Newelton, LA, Lonnie Ransome of Longview, TX and Aaron Ransome of Columbus, GA, and Willie P.(Bettye) Ransome of West Monroe, LA.
Her high school friend and fishing buddy Mattie Sampson of Newelton, LA and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
If you knew me and forgot me, you lost nothing but if you don't know God you loose everything-Shirley.
