Rachel Hope Weidman Wall, age 95, of Marshall, passed away on January 15, 2025. She was born on October 6, 1929, to Frank Howard Weidman and Lora Enna Wycoff Weidman.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her five brothers: Frank Jr., Robert, Chester, Virgil, and Daniel; and six sisters: Ruth Weidman, Virginia Weidman, Lora Mae McCoy, Betty Lutz, Gloria Whetstone, and Mildred Nelson. Rachel was particularly close to her niece Danna Louise Smith, and Danna’s daughter, Leisa Kennedy. Rachel leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rachel married James Earl Wall and together they raised two daughters, Sheila Barnes and Lori McDowell. She was a proud grandmother to her grandsons, Nathan and Harrison McDowell.
Rachel had a lovely voice and worked as a telephone operator for many years. In her later years, she became a beloved nanny and then a private care nurse. She enjoyed taking care of others.
She had a deep love for cooking, animals, and her family. Rachel's creativity shone through in her many hobbies, including crocheting, sewing, working on puzzles, and painting furniture. She spent the last years of her life at Marshall Manor, where she cherished the kindness and companionship of her caregivers.
Rachel will be remembered for her generosity, humor, and unwavering love for those around her. Her kindness and creativity touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed.
