Laura E. Tolbert

Service for Laura E. Tolbert 77 of Kilgore will be held at 11:AM Saturday ,from the Mt. Pleasant CME .Kilgore, Texas. With Rev Forest Curry officiating. Final Resting Place will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery .Born January 11, 1939 to the late Hubert and Maggie Stanford. She Was the third child of nine of children. She was preceded in death by eight (8) Brothers: I.V., J.T., Ernest, Freddie, Jeremiah, Robert, and Kenneth. Laura educational journey began at North Chapel High Schools. She later attended some college courses at Kilgore Jr. College. She retired as an insurance agent for Universal Life Insurance Co. and later join Motel 6 Company after several years of retirement. Laura accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She joined Post Oak Baptist Church. She later rededicated her life to Christ and joined Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church. She was an active member in the entire church and the Longview –Marshall District C.M.E. On September 1, 1957 she married Olantha Tolbert. To this union two beautiful children were born. Laura leaves behind to cherish memories and celebrate her life, David and Steven Tolbert, two(2) grandchildren - Joseph(Casey) and Brandon (Patricia), Seven (7) great children - Tristan, Donovan, Dontae, Chase, Jeremy, Joseph Kalel and Ashlynn, one (1) brother – Thurmond Stanford, Three (3) sister-in-laws –Darlene and Eva Tolbert and Elena Johnson, special life friend- Nell Frazier as well as a host of relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
