Esequiel Martinez Valadez was born on April 10, 1968 in
Zacatecas, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States as a
young boy, making his home in East Texas. Esequiel learned the
roofing trade and worked in that industry for over 30 years. He
loved his job at Longview Roofing and enjoyed his co-workers
and their customers.
Esequiel loved to attend church at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Longview, and valued his faith.
Esequiel is survived by his son, Zeek Valadez, and his daughter,
Christina Valadez, both of Longview. Also surviving are a number
of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Estrella “Jenny” Ocon, and
brothers Guadalupe “Lupe” Valadez and Jose “Joe” Valadez.
Esequiel was blessed to have a large extended family that
stretches from Longview, Texas to Zacatecas, Mexico. He was
kind and soft-spoken; he always had an answer for any question,
no matter how big or small. During his life, he invested in many
lives and he was loved by all who met him.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell
God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you
will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can
understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you
live in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
