SUNRISE: On Friday, October 30, 1936, in Longview, Texas, a bouncing baby girl was born to proud parents Joe and Katie Stephens. They named her Erma Jean Stephens.
EDUCATION: Erma Jean Stephens attended Northside Elementary School of Longview, Texas. She entered and graduated from Longview Negro High School in 1954.
RELIGION: At an early age, Erma Jean Stephens joined St. Mark CME Church of Longview, Texas. After marriage, Erma Jean Stephens Fagan united with the Growing Valley Baptist Church located in Longview, Texas. She was very active in the Mission Department, Deaconess Board and Culinary Department until her health prevented her from doing so.
FAMILY and ROMANCE: In 1955, Erma Jean Stephens and Jerry Fagan were united in Holy Matrimony. This union was blessed with two children: Daughter ~ Sherri LaShonne and Son ~ Kevin Tyrone.
CAREER and HOBBIES: Erma Jean Fagan worked for Longview ISD food service (Valley View Elementary School) for 15 years. Her favorite time was being a Housewife and raising her beautiful children.
LOVE ONES WAITING at the GATE: Erma Jean will be met at the Gate by her Husband ~ Jerry; Parents ~ Joe and Katie Stephens; Brothers ~ Rev .Joe Stephens, Robert Baker; Sisters ~ Betty Jewel Stephens, Ruby Jewel Jackson and Son-in-law ~ Don Lewis.
LOVE ONES WITH CHERISHED MEMORIES: Son ~Kevin(Stacie) Fagan, Kilgore, Texas; Daughter ~ Sherri Fagan Lewis; 7 Grandchildren ~ Jerrian Lewis, Jaz’Lyn Lewis, Jerry Elijah Fagan, Jonathan Caldwell, Alison Caldwell Gomez, Victoria Raymer, Lauren Caldwell; 3 Brothers ~ Marvin (Judy) Baker, Charles(Jean) Clark, Brazell Baker; Sister ~ Willie Faye Thomas; Sister-in-laws ~ Helen Stephens, Pearl Fagan, Esther Baker; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
